We plan to build a deck with an above-ground pool along the slope on the south side of our split-level house. The idea is that the pool section will be in the slope itself, and the deck will be about one meter above. This means we will need to build a "deck section" for the pool itself, but the question is how this construction should be designed to hold up. The pool will be about 1m deep, which means a pressure of 1000kg/m2. How closely spaced do the foundations need to be, and what framing should be used (dimensions of beams and joists, and the spacing between)?

Possibly you should get a response in the Civil Engineering forum. It really depends on what type of framework you need to support that weight.

I'll leave the thread here for a few more days and then I'll move it to the Civil Engineering section. If that's okay. :)
