In my local Byggmax, they only have one length of timber, and those are really long lengths, which means there can be quite a bit of waste. People don't think about this and only look at the price per linear meter.

Strange, Byggmax should have a similar range in all their stores, that problem doesn't exist here at least, the one with the least selection is Cheapy, with barely 15 different dimensions and only 1 length of most, the rest are special order,
 
A small update:
It turned out that k-rauta markets its rough plank "one inch four" as 22x95, but it can apparently have a thickness from 20-22mm. Is that even allowed?

However, I continue to buy a lot of lumber there because it's close by, and a clean and tidy lumberyard.
