I've gotten myself a somewhat rundown apartment that I plan to fix up. The drywall is full of holes of all sizes, and in some places, half-meter-long cracks snake diagonally across the plaster. No quick fixes, I like to do things properly. So down with the old plaster and up with new fresh boards. But what’s this? 9.5mm drywall!? It's barely available anywhere. The only thing I've seen that is 9.5mm is exterior drywall. And if I decide to use 12.5mm drywall, there'll be issues when I try to reinstall the window moldings...
What to do?
a) Use 9.5mm exterior drywall.
b) Use 12.5mm regular drywall and trim the moldings to fit.
c) Use 12.5mm regular drywall and find new moldings that have a 3mm offset (do these exist?)
