I have an inner window that is screwed into place with a wooden strip against the frame. Unfortunately, it's not very tight between the window and the frame, so I was thinking of sealing it with something.

Weatherstripping is an option, but it is somewhat narrower than the width of a weatherstripping so it will stick out a bit.

Ideally, it would be to lay a silicone bead and then press the window in place, but then the window will stick to the silicone if I need to remove it again. Is there some type of sealant that adheres to wood/paint but not to glass? Alternatively, is there some form of sealant where I need to use an activator on the surface it should adhere to?
