See the difference between spruce and pine. How do I do it?
I don't mean out in the forest, or the one with lights around Christmas. I mean when the tree has become a planed plank.
Now I want to be able to say that that's a pine plank, but that is spruce. Now I have no idea at all.

Now I've looked at some boards, and it's clear when I compare.
But if I'm just standing and looking at a part of the trunk, like a piece of läkt?

It's never 100% possible, but I would say that spruce is generally lighter/more yellow, and pine tends towards red. Spruce has more, darker, and relatively smaller knots. If it's relatively freshly sawn, pine and spruce also smell different.
Sniff my way to identifying spruce or pine! Of course! I'm going to learn that.Henningelvis said:
