Which wood - balcony above roof in aluzinc
Hello!
I've heard that I cannot have pressure-treated wood on a balcony above a roof made of aluzinc... is that correct?
When I called the lumberyard, none of them had heard about it... which is strange if that's the case.
Can I paint the pressure-treated wood so it doesn't damage the roof? Can I use plastic spacers against the roof?

Materials containing iron vitriol discolor aluzinc, and you certainly don't want to redo the roof after such a huge expense.

Plastic spacers might help a bit, but the question is whether the pressure-treated wood still releases quite a lot of chemicals in the first few years?
Best regards, jawen

Hello!
Thanks for the response!
Talked to two wood experts and three roofers.
There might be discoloration.
Can use larch battens...a bit expensive...got the advice to use rubber under the entire batten that rests against the roof. (instead of plastic spacer.) Also, they suggested I could paint the battens beforehand. Then it should be fine.
Take care!
