We are on the hunt for a new shelf for our home and I stumbled upon the following concept that I like:
Now it turns out this is just a concept and it's not for sale, so I'm thinking of making it myself (or at least ordering it myself).
I can handle creating the design in, for example, SketchUp without a problem, but the big question is who to turn to for production? I think the example above is made of Corian, which seems a bit too extreme (=expensive) for me.
Would it work with plywood bent under heat? Is it expensive to have it made in that case?
In short, which materials do you think would work for the above and who do you turn to to get it done?
That bike costs 70,000 DOLLARS! You could get a plane for that. Then you can probably afford some tinkering to shape the wood pieces correctly.
How big is that tree? As a shelf, it seems completely useless. If it's as big as it seems (i.e., there's room to place a book on the horizontal surfaces), it fills an entire wall but barely has any surfaces to actually place things on. You also have to consider that it won't look nearly as cool when it's full of stuff.
