Hi!

I am planning to install approximately 215 sqm of drywall on light concrete (Siporex).

Can one screw directly into light concrete with, for example, a drywall screw without it cracking?

Which adhesive is the most convenient, cheapest, and works well together with screws?

I have received a recommendation from Hornbach to use Casco Husfix Rapid, but I find it quite expensive (575kr for a 10kg bag). And I need to use screws with plugs. It sounds a bit like overkill, but as I said, I've never done it before!

Best regards,

Aleks

One usually glues with gypsum mortar, available at all building supply stores..

Yes, exactly, I find it strange that Hornbach doesn't sell Norgips gypsum plaster when they sell their drywall 😅

Don't they have Finja's range, so their plaster should work too...

I can't make sense of their search engine. I don't get any concrete results when I search for the "right" words...

They call it Gipsputs..

Not sure if it's as good or if it behaves like plaster though?

  • Bag of Finja gypsum plaster, 25kg, with orange and white packaging, listed on Hornbach.se with a price of 269 kr.

Do you want to try describing what you mean one more time? 😅

Gypsum plaster and gypsum are very sticky and adhere to most things, but the question is how Finja's gypsum plaster is...

It should work just as well with adhesive, it's a bit cheaper

I will probably go with this one. Do you have any hot tips about screws for this and if it's okay with drywall screws directly into siporex?

I did this 20 years ago. I think I talked to Weber then. Support said at the time, although they didn't want to say it officially and guarantee the result, that the best and cheapest option (then) was to use a "putsbruk". It says somewhere on this forum what I used, but I don't remember myself. I spread it out with a large notched trowel (10mm maybe?) and then pressed the sheet into place. It's still sticking to the wall.

Edit. The official answer was Serpo 616, that product still exists. But, as I said, I used some "putsbruk" which in practice ended up being the same thing, but much cheaper.
