Hello!
How should I approach the replacement of the exterior panel on an old cottage with existing log walls?

I'm thinking of attaching a board of asphalt board or wind barrier Hunton on top of the log wall, and then on top of this, a windproof membrane, followed by battens for a board facade type 22-145 / 22-45.

Am I thinking wrong?

Why both asfaboard/wind barrier and wind fabric?

Yes, it might be unnecessary. But someone I spoke to said a facade board and then on the outside a wind fabric.

But facade board is perhaps not the same as Asfaltboard / Hunton board?

Hello and welcome to Byggahus!
If you use asfaboard, you can skip the wind barrier; if you want a cheaper option, I suggest Örnpapp, it is an excellent Swedish product that has been stopping wind and moisture for a hundred years.

Asfaboard is good in old houses as it breaks the cold bridge wood-to-wood..

That's what I was thinking or rather advised to do by an acquaintance.
