I just got a new front door installed and there are pre-milled grooves for trim. But are there special trims you buy, or can you just use whatever fits?

The milling groove is 9-10mm wide, I don't have the best tools to measure, so I'm not sure exactly.

Then the depth is 132mm or 138mm from the bottom of the groove out to the wall.

I hope you understand what I mean, otherwise, feel free to ask, and I'll try to provide more/better info.

Newly installed front door with a semi-circular window and channel grooves for trim. The door frame is partially unfinished.

There are ready-made smygar and foder, check with the building supply store.

I went and bought window lining MDF at Byggmax as Krauta ran out of the Moelven you linked. But shouldn't the groove in the lining be the same width as the carved groove on the frame? Right now, the frame is about 9mm wide, and the lining has 2 "tongues," where one is 5mm and the other is 6mm plus a gap, which means I can't fit them without cutting one tongue off, and then it becomes a very "flimsy" construction.

Or am I thinking wrong/bought the wrong one?

Attached are images of the groove and the lining with measurements.

Isn't this what I should have instead

The one you linked to at k-rauta is Moelven and should fit in the grooves on the door frame. Byggmax seems to have a different supplier for smygar.
