I am installing waterborne underfloor heating in a wooden joist floor, but I am wondering about the best way to handle where the loops go up to the manifold?

There are chipboards on the floor. Should I build a 10cm high wooden frame to route the loops in?

What should the frame be filled with?

How is the distribution cabinet installed? Is it recessed in the wall or surface-mounted?

If it is recessed, no frame is needed, but if it is surface-mounted, there is a flange available to purchase for the cabinet to place underneath to cover the pipes.

Our craftsmen placed some form of protective tubing around the hoses, which made it a bit difficult to fit a ready-made flange, but then we made a small form out of wood that was filled with self-leveling compound, and later I will make a built-in structure out of wood. However, we have our surface-mounted distribution cabinet inside a closet, so the finish is not so crucial.
