Panel on plastered facade

Hello! I have a house from '45 with a rendered facade. The render is in such bad condition that the decision was made to clad the house with vertical paneling (z panel straight joint 145) on 28x70. There is a decorative projection at the roof connection and the gables. Chiseling away the projection at the gables was no problem, but when I did a test to chisel away the protruding stones at the roof connection, the bricks come loose... Do you know a solution for how I can make the roof connection? Thanks!

Why not renovate the existing facade instead, I think this is ruining a beautiful stone house and also getting yourself even more maintenance and expenses

Thanks for the reply, the facade was unfortunately already damaged during a previous roof replacement...
