....and the underlying calculations:

Thank you so much!

How did you think it looked, any comments?

Best regards

Have you not noticed our likes?

Absolutely, I have. A bit too good to be true, I thought maybe :)

If you're going to be picky, the posts should be GL30h not GL30c ;)

Haha, I knew it.

Beams with C and columns with H.

Exciting, then the building permit will be submitted next week...

What remains is for the engineer to the municipality to also specify VKR as an alternative to the central post.

I haven't read it that thoroughly, of course. But it was nice to see the redrawn documents. The value of that cannot be overstated.

You might want some praise? I think you have been very persistent in an exemplary way. Though a bit repetitive at times maybe...

Haha, no, but praise is always nice. However, I didn't make the drawings myself. You have played a very large part in motivating me to continue. Your contributions in the form of feedback have thus been an equally important part...

...and for putting up with my nagging

In the construction drawing, the designer states that the VKR plate should be attached with WT-T screws, but it feels wrong.

Diagram showing a lintel beam (90x315 GL30C) attached to a contact plate (150x90, 8mm thick) with W-T-S screws.

But WT-T screws are meant to be countersunk in wood, and in my opinion, the head shape is not suitable for screwing against a plate. What do you think?

A close-up of a metal WT-T screw, designed for countersinking into wood, with a threaded shaft and flat head.

It feels a bit off, both in type and proportions. The length is probably in the right range but it seems thin and with the wrong head. I would prefer a French screw. I think you should be able to see that there is a screw connection.

D
What do you mean by "see that it is a screw connection"?

That you can see the screw heads. Joints should not only hold, they should look like they hold too! It's part of the experience.
