I'm going to install a new kitchen hood that weighs about 13kg. It will be positioned between two studs, so I'm considering whether I can mount it on the drywall with 4 "duck foot" anchors (which should support 40kg each in downward force) or if I need to insert an additional cross beam in the wall.
Alternatively, I could cut out a piece of drywall between the studs and replace it with a plywood piece that can hold anchors instead. Would it be possible to tile on that as well?
