I have just installed underfloor heating on our upper floor. The floor consists of chipboard, then I've laid LK Systems EPS boards, then heat plates and 16 mm underfloor heating. On top of that, I've laid floor gypsum for stability. Now I'm going to lay laminate flooring on this. I have purchased Berryalloc's High-Tech Commercial flooring.

Do I need to lay age-resistant plastic on the floor gypsum before laying the laminate flooring, or can I lay the laminate directly on the floor gypsum?

I wouldn't lay plastic, but rather a floor foam that absorbs any unevenness in the floor.

Ok, floor foam is already on the underside of the laminate, so I don't need to lay it out.

To answer my own question. It is the flooring manufacturers who decide whether aging-resistant plastic should be used. And Alloc responded to me that they ALWAYS recommend laying aging-resistant plastic when using underfloor heating.

Then the floor manufacturer should also come up with a good justification for the requirement. It seems very strange to need to lay a moisture barrier between an upper floor and a lower floor. There is no ground moisture there, and underfloor heating itself does not generate moisture.?? :wow:
