Modify the rafters?

Some time ago, I wrote that I was considering changing the roof trusses in the garage to raise the roof about 50 cm. The purpose is to make room for a golf studio!

I have tiles on the garage roof, live in Blekinge, and need to change three roof trusses in the garage. The attached sketch is the idea! Am I thinking correctly, and will it work?

It might work if you make the subframe in steel profiles with a proper bolt connection or alternatively weld it in the middle. Then you should not connect the subframe directly to the upper frame except at the ends of the truss.

Request a quote for new roof trusses from a supplier. That way you always get drawings. Then you build according to them.
