Hello
I just bought a house where I want to open up between the kitchen/living room/hallway.
In the drawings below, it's what I call a "T" that I plan to remove. The opening consists of two doorways and the wall there isn't very wide, I estimate the opening will be a maximum of 3.5 meters wide.
This is right against the roof trusses and the upper floor.
Do you think it would be sufficient with a glulam beam supported on pillars at the edges against the other two walls?
The areas marked in red are extensions to the house, originally from 1927, with the extension added in 1982. 581946-8d461c4ef37bcc5b312c760d050028e0.jpg581947-0081f69bbcc667d46d14fcc13e3fa654.jpgFF2A5DB8-CDCD-466B-B013-1BCF77904859.jpeg

You'll receive the same answer as last time.

If you (the municipality) do not have any construction drawings, you may need to bring in a structural engineer who can check the house's structure on-site.

In houses from 1927, there may also be walls that are necessary for stability. The foundation must be checked on-site to see if it can handle the increased pressure from the columns. Alterations to load-bearing structures require an approved building notification.
