Hello!
I'm in the process of setting up an inner wall (gypsum + OSB + 45x70 timber studs) to create two smaller rooms from a larger one. I'd like to hear how you reasoned about the attachment of the wall.

Against the ceiling: I have double gypsum mounted on battens followed by a vapor barrier. Is it enough to screw the header through the gypsum and then attach to the battens (without going through the latter because of the vapor barrier) or will it be too weak? Perhaps I can reinforce with glue between the gypsum and the header?

Against the floor: Mounting the sill on 22mm chipboard flooring. Should it be enough to just screw into the chipboard (without going through)?

Against the walls: OSB and gypsum on one side and there I think it's just a matter of screwing into the stud with wood screws until I reach the OSB. The other wall is only gypsum followed by a vapor barrier as it is an exterior wall. Here, I was thinking of attaching the stud with only glue against the gypsum.

What do you knowledgeable folks think about this strategy?

How did you do in the end?
