How to install dampers for a heavy hatch with hinges at the top?

Hello!

I have posted this question under "Interior Design" as well but haven't received any response, so I'm trying here as well.

I need to install dampers for a heavy hatch with hinges on the top, see the attached image. I lack the installation instructions for them but naively thought that just installing them would work...but it doesn't. Does anyone recognize this type and know how they should be installed?

Not the same model, but ours seems to work the same way... should probably be placed on the opposite side then.
