Hello
I've searched around in cyberspace and here on the forum but can't find a thread that is "spot on." Still unsure if it's OK.
I've replaced windows and the interior of the outer walls looks terrible now when we're tidying up. There are also very few power outlets (today we use extension cords for where the TV and computer stand, the antenna cable runs across half the living room, etc.), so I'm thinking before I start installing trim and casing around the windows to frame on the existing outer wall's inner wall with 45x45 and use plywood and drywall to make room for a few more power outlets and a TV outlet that is closer to the TV.
I've read that you should be very careful about framing an inner wall against an outer wall with insulation due to moisture buildup, so I will skip that. But it still becomes a form of insulation with drywall and plywood? Is it safe to frame an uninsulated inner wall against an outer wall? I also wonder if you should use a sill on the parquet floor? I don't plan to screw the frame into the floor but use some form of bracket and attach it to the wall.
Grateful for answers!
