Sealant when installing windows
I am going to install new windows. Standard insulation for isolation purposes (usually use lindrev) but I want to complement with something airtight to minimize noise and drafts. Some kind of sticky mass, but what? The only place I shop at is Byggmax, so preferably something from their range.
Externally, it will be plaster since the house is plastered, internally trim, but it doesn't seal. In several descriptions I've read, it states that you pack with a type of fiberglass, possibly diffusion-tight sealant on the outside and on the inside a backing rod and tight sealant. But what type should it be?

It's my phone that auto-corrects diffusion-open to tight. If you read the link I included, you'll see that it should be open out and tight in. (Just like most things in the house).D Derbyboy said:
Thanks for the answers so far, but both are about joints for the outside, I am looking for suitable joint for the INSIDE of the insulation. The inside, that is.
Should I have metal on the inside of the house? I don't think that would look nice.Åsa Lund said:
I am supposed to seal between the frame and the wall on the inside, the sealing is to make the insulation air and soundproof, the windows are facing a road. On the outside, the insulation will be covered by plaster and on the inside by a wooden trim.
