I have mounted a string shelf on the wall, but one of the holes didn't turn out well. I used plaster anchors from Fischer but accidentally pulled one of them out, resulting in a large hole. Then I tried using Fischer's Fix & Fill, but the hole was 5mm too large for the perforated sleeve to hold when I screwed in the screw.

Therefore, I now have a screw that is loose in a large hole. Is there any way to fix this, preferably without removing the screw that is now fixed in the filling material? For example, injecting some filler into the hole so the screw holds? It's single gypsum in the wall.

Grateful for any kind of help!

  • Loose screw in a wall with a large hole, holding part of a white shelving bracket. The wall shows damage and cracking around the hole.

The problem is that the screw is stuck in the damn floating plug from Fischer. Therefore, I can't use another plug...

Would probably have snipped off the screw head and pushed it into the wall if it's hollow, then started over. With a different type of plug.

Can't pull it out with a hammer?

Place a plug under the screw, drive a screw into that plug, and screw in the screw that's in the string shelf?

What happens if you reverse the screw do you mean

A classic is to knock in some matches into the hole...

How big is the hole? I believe a blue Duomax wants 10 mm?

Then it seems like half the wall follows along
