I have an exterior wall that, after an extension, ended up under an awning and therefore is not directly exposed. The problem is that it is originally a brick facade which over time got a wood cladding. The question is, what is the easiest way to remodel it? The best solution right now seems to be to remove the wood paneling and replace it with suitable boards and then fill and paint (preferably) or plaster and paint the entire surface. I checked cement boards at Beijer and K-Rauta, but they seem heavy and difficult to cut and handle. Can gypsum be used as a base?
