Hi!
I was going to reinforce a curtain rail with an additional bracket, but after the first plasterboard, about 18mm in, I encountered what looks like metal.

The drill hole is a few centimeters above the window and is right in the middle of the window.

Does anyone know what this is, and should I continue drilling?

  • A window with curtains drawn aside, blinds down, and a small hole circled above the window. A potted plant and a lamp on the windowsill.
  • A hole above a window with blinds, circled in black, suggesting an issue encountered while attempting to reinforce a curtain rail.
  • Drilled hole in drywall revealing metallic surface, likely encountered while attempting to reinforce a curtain rail above a window.
Hello! It's most likely just the steel stud in the wall that you've hit. So just keep on drilling 👍
