Hello,
I'm reading an old final inspection report and a question arises:
What does it mean when a patio door is to be constructed at least in class B15? The door is between the garage and the laundry room.
The report is from 1978 :

This means, if I remember correctly, that it should have Load-bearing capacity for 15 minutes against fire.
I think one talks about B, E & I
E (or I) - flames should not penetrate
I (or E) - the temperature on the opposite side must not exceed a certain degree.
B - The construction must not collapse within the time.
It is then followed by a number, which is minutes.
An EI60 wall should therefore keep temperature and flames away for 60 minutes.

Thank you!
Makes sense. The old owner of the 70s house received a remark about this during the garage construction.
Good to know.
