Okay, I'll keep it short. For various reasons, we don't want to completely tear up the floor where our new kitchen is going. At the same time, we're not too keen on radiators as they get in the way of kitchen counters. So, my partner came up with the slightly crazy idea of embedding water-based underfloor heating into the countertops, which we're planning to cast in concrete because we think it's stylish. Do you see any obvious problems with this?

It will be a very thick slab... think there should be about 4cm of concrete above the pipes, then it will probably be a good breeding ground for bacteria, a warm slab where you handle food...

maybe you can have a ceiling-mounted fan convector that connects to the radiator pipes.

Can flip it around, don't see any advantages....;-)
And as Nino points out, it becomes a very thick slice....and I don't think it will be enough as a heat source in the kitchen...unless you have a loooooot of counter space.
And I think the installation will be unnecessarily complicated.

A fan convector under the cabinets that blows out will of course pull a little around the feet.
