Hello!
I need some tips and advice on how to go about getting my clothes rod back up in the closet. I accidentally tore it down when I was holding it and was stepping down from the shelf to the ladder while cleaning.
It has only come loose from one wall and still seems to be firmly attached on the other side. So, I'd like to use the same hole again to mount it back up. Brick dust is awful, so I want to drill as little as possible.
I've gathered some different options but now I'm nervous about the best approach. It needs to hold quite a substantial weight and I'd rather not get it on my head. So, I wish for some help!
See pictures of how it looks below and the stuff I have to choose from.
- The two small screws are the ones that were in previously, quite short. So, I thought I'd drill a bit deeper.
- Then there's the question of filling to repair the holes that are a bit damaged and uneven:
- Should I use Loctite Repair Putty, let it cure and then drill into it with a regular plug and screw?
- Use Fischer Fill & Fix with the accompanying special plug + screw.
- Pattes No More Nails I thought I might use at the end for extra strength by applying it to the wall and the clothes rod bracket... or?
What would you do?
Thanks for the help!
