I am renovating an approximately 30 sqm old shed and have two questions regarding the installation of the plinth and sill.
During demolition, we saw that the existing concrete slab is low against the ground, which causes the panel to be too close to ground level. The plan is therefore to build up with a layer of lecablock as a plinth to raise the wood construction and improve ground clearance.
I was advised to use stone adhesive, e.g. Illbruck PU700, instead of mortar to glue the lecablock. Is this a good and durable solution in this context for a load-bearing structure, or should one use traditional mortar? Does anyone have experience with this?
Question 2:
When installing the sill – is it enough to anchor it into the lecablock, or should one go all the way down and anchor it in the concrete slab with screws/concrete screws?
