I need to glue quite a lot of laminate flooring to a painted wall in the garage. I've done it before with PL400. It holds, but it's quite expensive.

Is there anything else a bit cheaper?

I used to do it as follows.
A few dabs of PL400 and some hot glue against the wall. The hot glue attached the laminate directly. Then the PL400 cured permanently. Since just hot glue usually comes off after some time.

What is available today that is a bit cheaper and almost as good as PL400?

How many tubes are we talking about? A tube PL400 costs just under 70:-

I just did it. Used PL600. There's also construction adhesive at Byggmax for 45kr.

However, our laminate was a bit "cheaper" and you need to tap them together a little. That's why I chose to use PL600 so I know it holds, also used a nail gun at the edges where the trim covers.

Warning about that one, I've glued some window sills with it but after a year or so, it was just a matter of lifting them off as the adhesive had almost disintegrated itself.

Hmm. Didn't think about it with nail gun and stift.

I guess about 20-25 tubes.

Any mounting glue with a short tack time.
This one seems to have the right properties, 25:- cheaper.

This one is cheaper, but the specs are unclear. With the hot glue model, it should work well.

Will try this one from Bauhaus. Seems promising.

Buy a probau and try it too. Their products are often the same function/solution as well-known brands.

It took us 3 tubes of PL600 for 6sqm. We used quite a lot due to the uneven wall.

Can't find any specification on what it glues...

After "building" a planting box this summer using Biltema's stone adhesive, I now use it for most things that need gluing at home. The stone adhesive is polyurethane-based and dries quickly, and with their applicator gun, it is very convenient to work with; 1 bottle yields 50-50 liters of foam. It doesn't expand nearly as much as regular expanding foam, but you need something to hold it in place while it dries. http://www.biltema.se/sv/Bygg/Kemikalier/Lim/Stenlim-2000029972/

I had problems with it. With vertical gluing. With hot glue, it probably works. Just saying.

I think hot glue is useless for everything but maybe I'm too slow?

Why not double-sided tape?

Yep. It's to attach the panel to the substrate. So that the glue can cure in the meantime.
