Hello!

Do you have any tips on how I can tidy up these spacers/mounts for the downpipes? They have only been up for a few months but have warped and become unsightly.

I will take down the downpipes for painting the veranda in about a week (only primed at the moment) so I thought I would take the opportunity to fix a better-looking solution. I am open to making something myself or buying something ready-made.

Do you have any ideas? Thanks in advance

Why not attach directly to the post?

The tube needs to be out a bit from the post to not collide with the floor. But maybe there are brackets that make the tube extend further from the wall?

Square tubes in a suitable size, e.g., 20x20 mm, cut into spacers, painted black, and attached with a longer screw.

Use a trowel for mortar instead

A short straight connector piece in the middle of the S-bend up there is usually used. This way the brackets fit tightly against the pole and you don't need spacers.
If you cut the downspout a bit at the bottom, you can raise the lowest bend so it clears the decking.

Is it just me who would have chosen white downspouts when they're supposed to be against white corners?

That's how I would have solved it too. Then the downspout exit is some dm higher, but it doesn't matter.

Thanks, that was a good suggestion! Another option is to router out a semicircle on the deck if I can reach with the hand router.

All the details on the house are black (e.g. windows and mullions), so I think it fits well in this case.

Do you have a link to an example?

Choose a pin of a good length, pre-drill a little and then hammer the pin in just the right distance..
Thanks for a great idea!
