Hello!
I have an opening by my stairs where there is a sort of "drop." My father-in-law is an architect and suggested some type of gate that must be movable to easily go down to the basement.

How would you solve this? Leave it as it is? Some type of gate/trellis? Or a half-wall?

Thankful for smart tips.

A railing (trellis, about 50 cm out from the wall should work, right?
It's not a bad idea to make it easily detachable, or put hinges on the wall so it can swing like a gate when needed, for example, if you need to move furniture or something similar.
