Hello!
Had to tear up a floor in our summer cottage on a crawl space foundation due to a leak inside.

Removed everything down to the wooden planks. Dehumidified. Looks like it's old mold that we plan to sand off and use the product mold-free.

But what do we do next?
We are going to lay laminate flooring, but what do we do with the underlay? Should we lay plastic against the wood as a moisture barrier?
We probably need to build up the floor a bit to raise it and also even it out.

Attaching some pictures of the wooden planks (or whatever they're called😄).

Grateful for advice❣️

  • Old wooden floorboards with visible signs of wear and discoloration, possibly mold, in a summer house renovation project.
  • Old wooden floorboards with visible mold spots and nail holes. Wood grain is prominent. A wooden beam is partially visible at the top right.
I would have skipped the plastic and just laid gray paper under the laminate. Be prepared for it to take forever to get it even and without bounce, depending on how meticulous you are. The moisture pressure downward is very small, and on the contrary, it looks like this mold has grown because moisture has settled there without being able to dry out—perhaps because there's been too tight a floor above? Was there a plastic mat at some point before, maybe?

It's important to add a little heat so the house can dry out. In an old house, you shouldn't put in plastic, it will just turn out poorly. Stick to diffusion-open materials and it will be fine.
