Hello!

As the question states, is it okay to skip the wall plate over sections with a load-bearing beam (see image) in a load-bearing wall without it significantly impacting the beam's load-bearing capacity when the roof trusses are mounted directly on the beam instead of on the wall plate?

Diagram illustrating a structural beam supported by vertical studs, with notes on beam placement and load-bearing considerations in wall construction.

It's going well. But isn't it easier to have hammarband all the way?

It would certainly be easier, the problem is that I can't afford to lose the extra 45mm that the hammarband gives due to very low ceiling height. If I skip the hammarband, there is just enough height under so that the door can barely fit in the opening.

It works well without hammarband, so go for it.

It works fine without hammarband, so go ahead.
