Hello byggahus!
We are planning to open up a load-bearing interior wall at home and install a glulam beam to support the weight from the unfinished attic and the roof.
The wall we want to remove is 4.10 meters long, so including the columns, the glulam beam should be about 4.20 meters long.
Do you think a 90x270 would be sufficient, or is it way too small?
The house is almost 10 meters wide.
Some neighbors have made similar openings with that dimension, but they haven't opened up the wall as much.
Grateful for any answers!

Based on the information you have provided, I can say that 90x270 is a completely insufficient dimension. It is at least 90x405, probably more. You can replace 90x405 with 190x315, but that is likely still not sufficient. The length of the opening and the width of the house are the determining parameters. Additionally, there are probably roof loads that depend on the truss construction and snow zone, etc.
Very grateful for your answers!
I have spoken with several different retailers and everyone gives different answers... It is also not possible to get in touch with a designer via Martinsson or Deroma because they do not perform calculations for private individuals. Apparently, the retailers should be able to ask, but they have been unwilling to do so.
More info:
Snow zone 3
Frame truss, cc120, b with one of those rubber membranes underneath, clay roof tiles
Floor structure about 300mm
One retailer thought that 90x225 would be sufficient... I really wish he were right, but I am skeptical. What do you think about that?

Is there a basement under the ground floor? What do you mean by truss framework? Either framework or truss. Can you photograph the trusses? If they are of the truss type, you might not need any beam at all. Don't trust salespeople. They have no expertise in this area.
Sorry, I meant framework.
And we live in a split-level house, so yes, you could say there's a basement underneath. Concrete wall at the outer wall, BF block where we plan to place a pillar, load-bearing wall directly under the load-bearing wall we intend to demolish!

What is in the attic? The key to the answer can be found there.
Unfinished attic and a ventilation unit (+ a lot of clutter) are there today... However, the idea is to eventually furnish an additional bedroom or living room up there.
