Sewer pipe in intermediate floor
Hello
I'm thinking about planning the bathroom on the upper floor. I have a drainage pipe that comes up from the lower floor to one side of the future bathroom. How "locked" am I to the placement of the toilet, sink, and bathtub based on this?
Can drainage pipes from the sink and floor drain be routed through the beams in the floor structure without problems? The floor structure is built from 45x220 cc 400.
What about the drainage from the toilet?
I'm mostly wondering if it's pretty standard to route through the beams or if it's avoided for structural reasons?

Of course you can do it. It might not be recommended to go through all of them. Then you can reinforce on both sides with plywood that you make about half a meter long and as high as the beam, which is to say 22 cm, and notch out for the pipe, then screw and glue on both sides of the beam you went through with the pipe.
If you're going to run a 110 mm toilet drain pipe, you should drill 120. If you're going through multiple beams, you can't go through all of them in the middle because you need a slope on the pipes.
I managed to route the toilet drain in the wall instead of the floor, then ran the drain through the attic (moved the insulation so that it was on the warm side) and then into the floor between the correct beams.
Is the floor drain for a shower or bathtub?

I have planned to do as Andreas Lundgren in case of any changes, but generally there should not be any problem reinforcing around the holes for the drainage pipe.

It becomes difficult to shoot longer pipes if you only make a hole in the joist and not a notch as in the wooden guide.
But of course, you should follow the safe water instructions as much as possible so that it does not become troublesome with the insurance company in case of an error.

It's common to have 70 mm for bathtubs and 50 mm for showers. However, I installed 50 mm for the bathtub, and the concerns mentioned in the forum post below (that the water trap would be siphoned out) never became an issue. (The hose from the bathtub to the drain is only 20-30 mm.)
