An inspector noted leaks around the windows. The facade is a single-layered model, i.e., plaster on foam. Between the window recess and the window frame, it is not sealed. JM, who built it 8 years ago, dismisses it and says it is irrelevant. I will try to convince them for a while longer, but if I fail to get them to fix it, I want to do it myself. My idea is not to fill the gap with sealant, since it could affect vapor diffusion from inside out, but I just want to provide rain protection. Therefore, I want to install a trim that bridges the gap. But the plastered window recess is rough. Are there craftsmen who can do this? Is there, for example, a wood or light metal trim with a rubber seal that seals against the rough surface?
