Hello,

We have slanted ceilings and need to install a 140cm wide roller blind there. We cannot hit the studs due to the position we desire. Will 13mm standard drywall hold for this? Expansion screw or something else?

Thanks!

/K

Screw a board into the studs and the roller blind into the board?

Too long and not nice...

So you don't think the plaster will hold??

If I were to install a roller blind, I would want to be sure. Not just think. The plaster might hold, but not forever. It depends on how, who, and when you pull the roller blind up and down. If they are "decorative curtains," it might work. I would never do that in a child's room.

You don't need to use a pressure-treated deck board. You can use a white-painted 42x22 (or the closest dimension) cut exactly the same length as the roller blind. No one will see it.

Good idea! I will review it. Thank you!

It is not possible to adjust the roller blind's length according to the wall studs by cutting it. An expander in 13 mm gypsum hanging 10kg or 20kg on the wall.

Is it a roller blind for watching movies or should it be placed in front of a window?

Yes, but a roller blind that is often pulled down and up creates movement, so I wonder if there is a risk that over time it might not hold up well. An unchanged load would, as mentioned, not be a problem...

It's for a window!

Does the window have no frame you can put it in?

No, the window is curved and set in an interior wall with an open end upwards.

A picture is absolutely needed here!

Otherwise, I would think that a few molly bolts will fix everything:

Metal molly bolt anchor, typically used for securing objects to drywall.

Image will be, Just need to finish the wall first :)

If the wall isn't finished, maybe you can take the opportunity to open it up and install a kortling.

The problem is that the roller blind should be positioned so that it also covers the bed from a skylight. Therefore, it cannot be mounted on the wall but should be a few dec from it.
