Hello!

I would appreciate input regarding a retaining wall about 5 meters long and 1 meter high, which I am considering building with either Leca or Concrete Block. The wall will be built on a concrete footing and about 30 cm of macadam and fabric against the topsoil.
I plan to follow Finja's work description https://www.finja.se/storage/ma/4f3...FF3AADC44057475A3B21E8482BB27/5133_GDS_sv.pdf where they use Leca. I've also received the suggestion that Concrete Block, due to its weight, provides a more stable construction and allows for vertical reinforcement from the concrete footing through the voids in the block. Leca is undeniably easier to work with, but if Concrete Block holds up better, it might be worth some heavy lifting.
As mentioned, grateful for any input!

Their description is based on their block, which has a rather large cavity in the middle, and for walls between 0.8 and 1.1 m high, these cavities should be filled with concrete. Then they have a foundation of transverse stones and reinforcement that holds the wall together, etc., which helps.

If you are to follow their instructions, concrete hollow block is probably reasonable if you cannot build support for the wall otherwise.
