Hello,
We have a chimney with an open fireplace that has a stove installed in it. I noticed that some stones are loose because the adhesive dried out. It looks like white plaster underneath. Exactly what I wanted. Can I just remove/knock/break them off or do I need to contact a chimney sweep or someone similar here? Attaching pictures.

It's probably just a matter of knocking them down. It's like a brick wall in a pizzeria. Just cosmetic :)
