I am going to build a frame house with 45x170 studs in the walls. I already own a nail gun that can handle 90mm nails. Is this sufficient for nailing the frame together?

Yes!

Well, the frame should probably be nailed together with 4-inch nails, i.e., 100mm?

No problem with nail guns. Now, I happen to have a model that takes a real 4" (100mm) but they are uncommon on construction sites. To compensate for the missing 10 mm, nails often have extra ribs or glue that melts due to friction. Additionally, the nail is driven deeper into the wood from the start!

Another aspect is that it's considerably more fun with a nail gun, so you often over-nail, so any issue with strength doesn't exist in practice ;) :D

OK, then you know that :)

Thank you for the tip and I can definitely agree that the actual nailing becomes much more fun and easier.
