Hello, I have a question regarding mounting Eket on the wall. You get templates (see image) to mark the screw holes. My question is, should I put up all 4 templates directly and should they be edge to edge with each other, or should I put up one template, mark the screw holes, and mount the first shelf on the wall?

I'm worried that when I mark the screw holes, attach the brackets, and try to put up the shelves, it won't work because one shelf might hit the other. There will be a total of 4 shelves (cubes).

I hope you understand what I mean, thank you!

I think you need a rail to hang the cabinets on the wall. That template is probably just for if you're going to screw the oak shelf to the wall when it's standing on the floor so that it doesn't risk tipping over...

Match the template against the back of a cabinet and see if it's the same size.

You're right because this is what Ikea writes in the assembly instructions:
If the product is to be hung on the wall, it must be done with the special wall rail (sold separately at IKEA).

I've reconsidered the wall rails if the template marks where the screw holes should be for the actual rail. Am I thinking wrong?

I have the wall rails, I'm wondering if the template marks where the screw holes should be for the rail itself. Am I thinking wrong?

Is what you taped to the wall from the manual that came with the wall rail then?

Sometimes you have to ask before you figure it out yourself.
Yes, they are. I could have just placed a wall bracket on & checked if the holes matched the bracket's, and that the template fit the cube, which it did.
Sometimes you're not really smart!

Thanks for all the help, have a nice evening! :)

Alright, good luck! We want to see the final result then... (y):D

We'll arrange that, of course! Thank you

Now they're finally up! A tip from the coach if you're going to put them up, always start with the bottom one & work your way up. Be careful otherwise some paint might chip off the wall (might have happened here) ;)

Thank you so much, we are satisfied even though it almost ended in divorce as usual when it comes to Ikea stuff ;)(y)

I recognize that, but life is all the sweeter when you succeed at something. ;)

Haha really, totally agree!
