Hello!

I'm redoing my bedroom at home and need to replace the ceiling moldings along two of the walls, but I can't find the right type in stores. The house was completed in '16 so it's relatively new, but I can't find anywhere the ceiling moldings that are in the entire house.

Searches lead me to believe that it's a concave molding of the allmoge type. I'm attaching an image from the internet (with incorrect dimensions though) and an image from my son's room.

In place, the molding extends 50 mm outward on the wall and ceiling.

Can anyone tip me on where I can buy these in Stockholm, or alternatively order them?

  • Cross-section of a white ogee-style wooden cornice moulding, showing decorative profile and wood texture.
  • Ceiling molding in a bedroom, showcasing an ogee profile with a 50 mm projection. The molding is part of a home built in 2016, seeking similar replacements.
Maybe it's easier to find if you measure it "correctly". That is, the measurement from the roof edge to the wall edge.

Have you checked Moelven Allmoge ceiling molding 132 Furu?
(Don't have the energy to calculate if it will be the right measurement for you)

How do you mean one should measure? Like the diagonal, you mean?
If it is 50 mm in each direction, then you can quickly calculate that the diagonal will be 70.7 mm.

Yes, it looks correct. But Moelven is a wholesaler and sells to the construction trade, can you order just a few meters from them as a private individual?

If you live in Stockholm check out panel o list Tomtebogatan

Otherwise, check out veckebosåg - https://veckebosag.se/ There is most of what you need in terms of lists.

Google "taklist allmoge" and there are quite a few options available.

I've now checked all the tips, but the ones I find are either too big (builds 8 cm, which doesn't fit) or made of polystyrene.

Feels frustrating to have to buy new moldings for the whole room just because of one wall :-/
Not insanely expensive, mind you, but still

In the picture below, it's the measure 43 you should use.
Moelven sells to a number of building merchants, so you need to find one nearby that carries Moelven's range, and it should be on the shelf. Buy a piece of trim in the length you need.
