A music room in the basement, I don't want to spend 5000 on the cheapest 14mm hardwood floor, but 1500 on laminate instead. Byggmax then recommends floor chipboard, I'm wondering what the effect will be of laminate directly on the carpet?

I have now laid 8mm laminate, so far it's okay, sure there is some give, but my 90kg jumping with my heel on "ändträ" works.
