Interior wall in basement directly against exterior wall - insulate/drywall/plaster???
Hello everyone,
What would I have done without all your wise advice?
As part of a total renovation, we have excavated our basement about 120 cm. New basement outer walls and a new concrete floor with underfloor heating have been cast. It has been drained and insulated externally around almost the entire basement except for two places where there are extensions on the ground floor.
So far, everything has gone according to plan.
The basement outer walls are thus partly new, partly original from 1887. No major moisture problems so far, but who knows what really hides in the walls.
For the first time, my construction company and my advisor disagree on how to proceed with the walls inside the basement.
My advisor wants the walls against an outer wall to be plastered and then painted with suitable paint.
The construction company, on the other hand, suggests building the interior walls with this material from Knauf:

What do you say, dear experts?

Do they want to clad the inside of the outer basement walls with these then? Not good at all to insulate on the inside like this, I agree with your advisor.
Or do you mean the walls between the rooms in the basement?

Exactly, he wants to cover the inside of the outer basement walls with these.
Ok - would you then recommend plaster?
Thanks!
