Hello!
We want to install a stable window or industrial window without glass in a load-bearing wall, the so-called "hjärteväggen." The window is planned to be about 60-100 cm wide and about 100-120 cm high. What work is required for this? Is it "just" opening up a hole, or are glulam beams, building permits, building notifications, etc., required? How should one proceed?
Best regards, today.

It depends on how the heart wall is constructed. Such a narrow window probably requires fairly limited reinforcement measures. Building permits are not applicable. Certain basic information about the house is needed: main dimensions, what is on the second floor, what the roof looks like, which snow zone it is located in, and preferably also the year of construction.

However, registration is required.

Hi!
It is a single-story brick villa built in 1962, snow zone southern Halland. The wall's width is about 6m, height 2.40 m. Wooden studs with rough board. Poured slab between the basement and living level. Unheated attic on the "second floor". I am thinking of placing the window between two studs, i.e., the window would have a width of about 55 cm, placed at a height of 90 cm from the floor, window height is planned to be about 110 cm, so not full ceiling height for the window.

What type of trusses are in the attic?
If you're lucky, they are fackverkstakstolar (W-form), and then none of the interior walls are load-bearing.
