Hello! I need guidance on a home renovation project.

We are renovating a room in the basement, the walls consist of light concrete stones and 2cm of plaster. On 2 of the walls, there was a glued fabric, which is now gone, leaving behind its glue. The walls in the room are full of cracks, they are drainage damages as we recently drained. The idea is to renovate the room into a typical nice room, with white walls, a white ceiling, and wooden flooring. Wallpaper is not something we are considering, instead, white paint on a nicely plastered wall is our goal.

How should we proceed to get the walls ready so we can paint them white?

Thanks in advance! :)

Maybe if you polish the roads with plaster?
