I am going to renovate the wooden details in the bathroom. They look so insanely dull with a little yellowed ugly paint. But in many places between wooden strips (around windows and in the corners of the ceiling), the old paint has cracked and left an ugly gap. How do I solve this in the best and most stylish way? Regular putty probably won't be enough?

Bathroom = toilet. No shower or similar. It is not a humid climate.

Very grateful for tips and ideas!

Elastic paintable sealant can be the best choice if you don't want to redo the work with the moldings, etc.

In the lower left corner of the first image, it looks like there might be water damage.
