How should one insulate a basement, the part that is above ground?
Living in a hillside house from 1938. We drained the house last year and used Isodrän boards around it. Now to my question:
Since we live in a hillside house, how should one insulate the exterior walls above ground? I know that you shouldn't insulate a basement exterior wall from the inside, but can you just insulate the part above ground from the inside?
I'm thinking of using metal studs, leaving an air gap, insulating the above-ground part, and covering it with plasterboard.
Should the insulation then be covered with plastic since it is above ground?
What do you think about my idea?

Don't worry. is it meters above ground that the foundation wall goes up or. Your drainage insulation ends just below ground and if you're going to insulate upwards, it will certainly become thicker and end up outside the panel.
I used 70mm xps boards and then stone wool boards. Then placed a flashing behind the panel. But it depends on what thickness you have between the foundation and the facade.Byggarenicke said:

I was probably a bit unclear. I mean inside. One outer wall goes from about 30% above ground to 75% because the plot is on a slope.J jonaserik said:
