One always wants to insulate the outside, but imagine a simple outhouse in the countryside that is to become a workshop with some heating all year round. The newly cast floor now contains foam plastic, and the attic has received loose-fill insulation in quantity. The walls from outside to inside: Simple wooden panel, windproof fabric, sawdust about 10 cm, plank wall, tree-tex. The next layer could be plaster. Plaster for soundproofing, appearance, and fire protection is the idea. Heard about "insulating plasterboards." Does anyone have experience? Maybe expensive for a simple garage? There are many threads about plaster and its insulating properties, but I couldn't find this particular product.

Gypsum insulation is just a piece of insulation covered with gypsum on one side, right?

Aside from the faster assembly, such a board does not add much compared to regular mineral wool and a regular gypsum board.

Now I found Fermacell, which even the hardware stores sell. They're supposed to be something special. So, I was thinking of skipping the usual framing and insulation. Killing two birds with one stone with a thick board on the Tree-tex. A ready-made surface, so to speak.
