Hello,

Right now, I am building a wall. I have a 45x70 stud that needs to be attached to a drywall. I have tested 2 different drywall plugs and expanders. Various lengths of screws, but nothing works. You can easily pull out the stud. The plug hasn't expanded, and furthermore, the screw just "spins" when you screw it in fully. What am I doing wrong? Any other tips for attaching the stud to the drywall?

What have you used? Molly?

Have you tightened the expander before mounting the rule?

these I have tried with

  • Screws and wall plugs with a tape measure for scale on a dark surface.

No. What do you mean by "tighten the expander"?
Shouldn't it expand when I screw through the rule + the plug?

You have screws that are too short.
If I understand you correctly, you have drilled through the regeln and are going to screw it against the plasterboard.
The screws must be long enough. The thickness of the regeln plus the length of the plug. Otherwise, the screw will not grip the back part of the plug and can "fold" the expander.

The screws must be long enough. The thickness of the stud plus the length of the anchor. Otherwise, the screw won't catch the back end of the anchor and can "collapse" the expander
Ok! But I tested this white one and the longest screw, but it still didn't work. Do you know why?

  • A ruler, two screws, and two wall plugs on a surface, with the longest screw and white plug being questioned for use.
Do you have single or double plasterboard on the wall?

is there something to attach at the ceiling and at the floor? straight board and mounting glue in the middle and screws at the top and bottom

I have already attached a joist to the ceiling and will attach one to the floor. Do you mean that I should only glue the joist to the wall and fasten it to the ceiling and floor joist? Is that enough?

I've already put a stud in the ceiling, and will place one in the floor. Do you mean I should only glue the stud to the wall + attach it to the ceiling and floor stud? Is that enough?

The white plug should work with the longer screw. You might have drilled a hole that's too large in the gypsum, causing the plug to just rotate and not grip.

Well, it should be 6mm. I've tested with both 5mm and 6mm drill bits.

Yes
